Outline:
The field workshop is planned to provide an opportunity for observations and discussion on characteristic features of periglacial, glacial and coastal domains of Svalbard geomorphic system. Special attention will be paid to their evolution under the climate warming. We expect to visit: (1) mountain slopes of Fugleberget and Ariekammen with debris cover, talus cones, nivation activity and solifluction features; (2) glacier marginal zone with sequence of landforms of different origin (Hansbreen and/or Ariebreen); (3) raised marine terraces of Fuglebergsletta with active permafrost features and coastal morphology with present day sea activity. The trail of excursion will be decided according to the current weather conditions.

Participants will need outdoor clothing: waterproof jacket with hood or beanie, hiking boots, etc. A backpack for packed lunch and an extra stuff is recommended. General knowledge on geomorphology is desirable.
